On December 3,2021, the selection results of the 10th "Mother River Award", jointly launched by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, were announced. The Beijing Key Laboratory of Energy Economy and Environmental Management of Beijing Institute of Technology won the 10th "Mother River Award" Green Contribution Award. A total of 20 teams nationwide won the "Green Contribution Award".
The Beijing Key Laboratory of Energy Economy and Environmental Management of Beijing Institute of Technology was officially recognized by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology in 2016, and it is one of the first five units selected in the newly established "new think tank" in Beijing.Relying on the Energy and Environmental Policy Research Center of BIT, the research team aims to build energy economy and environmental management strategic think tank, and provide decision support for national green development and high-quality development. The laboratory has trained a group of high-level talents for Chinese energy economy and environmental management.The director of the laboratory is Professor Wei Yiming.The winning team includes more than 10 full-time teachers, including Professor Liao Hua, Professor Tang Baojun, Professor Yu Peiying, Professor Liang Qiaomei, Professor Qu Shen, and Professor Zhao Lutao.
