October 19-27, 2013, invited by the School of Management and Economics, Professor Peter Sloane, Universität Paderborn, paid an academic visit to our school. Professor Sloane carried out various forms of academic exchange activities with graduate students in the Department of Applied Economics and MBA students.
October 22, professor Peter Sloane brought to MBA students a report entitled "Germany's apprenticeship system: the inside story". Professor Meng Fanchen hosted the lecture. Nearly a hundred MBA, IMBA students attended the lecture.
Professor Peter Sloane has long been engaged in research in the field of management education and human resources. He has great insights on the relationship between the education system and the country's political environment, society and culture. Professor Sloane introduced the background of German dual system, and gave a detailed account of the formation of postwar German education system, as well as the results achieved. Professor Sloane started from how to build a dual education system, and analyzed the many systemic problems encountered in formulation of government policy and mechanism design and explained the final solution. The lecture was inspiring. At Q & A session, students actively asked questions. Professor Sloane answered their questions one by one and the students responded with enthusiastic applause.
