November 20, 2010, The Second Symposium of Energy Economics and the inaugural meeting of Energy Economics and Management Branch of Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics (CSOOEM) were held at the Beijing Institute of Technology. More than 100 leaders, experts and scholars from more than 50 organizations attended the meeting, including the State Council Research Office, the National Energy Research Institute, the Environmental Planning Institute of the Environmental Protection Ministry, Science and Technology Association, CSOOEM Research Council, the National Natural Science Foundation of Management Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Tsinghua University. Dean Professor Wei Yiming presided over the opening ceremony.
This meeting elected the first session of the Branch Council. Professor Wei Yiming, Director of BIT Energy and Environmental Policy Research Center, and vice president of CSOOEM was elected branch chairman. Professor Wang Zhaohua, Deputy Director BIT Energy and Environmental Policy Research Center, was elected Branch Secretary-General．
