【Mingli Lecture 2022, Issue 28】Associate Professor Wu Lusi from UESTC was invited to give an academic report

[Mingli Lecture Hall 2022 Issue 28]

At the invitation of the School of Management and Economics, Associate Professor Wu Lusi from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China came to our school for an exchange visit, and made an online speech entitled "The role of emotions in leader-member daily exchanges method" at 10:00 on May 25, 2022. "Scholarly Report. The report meeting was chaired by Mr. Wang Ying, and more than 50 teachers and students from the college attended the report.

Mr. Wu reported an article recently published in Personnel Psychology. This article examines emotional emergencies and their impact on daily leader-member exchanges. The study consisted of an experimental study with 247 participants and an empirical sampling study of 79 leaders matched with 145 members. The data show that positive imbalanced exchanges increase members' helpfulness to leaders through gratitude; meanwhile, negative imbalanced exchanges increase members' risk attempts through pride. Additionally, the strength of the above effects is influenced by the mean value of leader-member resource contributions. This research adds to our understanding of the role of emotion in dynamic resource interactions and knowledge about changes in social exchange within individuals.

After the report, the participating teachers and students had a positive and full discussion with Professor Wei and took a group photo. The report received enthusiastic response and was well received by teachers and students.
