【Mingli Lecture 2022, Issue 1】1-4 Researcher Cao Zhidong from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences was invited to report

On January 4th, [Mingli Lecture 2022 Issue 1] was honored to invite Cao Zhidong, a researcher from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, to bring you an academic report entitled "Research on the Complex System of Epidemic Spread in Time and Space and Thinking on Precise Prevention and Control of Epidemic". Mr. Zhu Bin from the School of Management and Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology introduced Mr. Cao Zhidong and presided over the report.

Mr. Cao Zhidong first introduced the development of complex systems research and pointed out that complex systems are of great significance to the research of infectious diseases. Then, Mr. Cao introduced the research methods of the spatiotemporal spread of the epidemic from the perspective of complex systems, including the analysis of spatiotemporal dynamic evolution, the modeling of heterogeneous spatiotemporal coupling propagation dynamics, and the computational experimental deduction based on artificial epidemic systems. Finally, Mr. Cao shared the research ideas of precise prevention and control of the epidemic.

Mr. Cao Zhidong's report fully aroused the interest and enthusiasm of the teachers and students at the meeting. After the report, the teachers and students actively communicated and interacted with Mr. Cao, and Mr. Cao also answered the corresponding questions. The report received enthusiastic response and received unanimous praise from teachers and students.

Cao Zhidong, graduated from the Institute of Geographical Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008 with a Ph.D., and then entered the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has served as a postdoctoral fellow, assistant researcher, associate researcher, researcher, doctoral supervisor, winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and an advanced individual in the national science and technology system to fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic. He is the leader of the "Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences Epidemic Prediction and Analysis Team", an advanced collective of the national science and technology system to fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic, and a member of the expert group of the informatization special class of the scientific research team of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the new crown pneumonia epidemic. He has served in many countries Member of the special committee, branch director and executive director of the first-level society. The main research directions are social computing, spatiotemporal big data analysis, and public health emergency management. It is committed to the development and utilization of scientific and technological innovation means of big data and artificial intelligence. Emergency management and prevention and control decision-making ability to deal with major infectious disease epidemic crises. In related fields, he has presided over more than 10 national-level projects, including 6 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and presided over the major project of Science and Technology Innovation 2030—“New Generation Artificial Intelligence” “Research on New Model and Policy Evaluation of Major Infectious Diseases Prediction” (2021ZD0111200), serving as chief scientist. Published hundreds of papers in international mainstream journals such as Nature Human Behaviour, National Science Review, NPJ Digital Medicine, Chaos, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, and Scientific Bulletin, China Science, China Science Foundation and other domestic mainstream journals and international conferences. He has translated 3 books, and won 9 scientific and technological awards, including the first and second prizes of the Army Science and Technology Progress Award (3 items), the first prize of the Natural Science Award of the Chinese Simulation Society, and the Special Award of Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology.
