On the afternoon of March 10, 2022, at the invitation of Professor Wei Yiming, Director of Energy and Environmental Policy Research Center, Associate Researcher Sun Liang of China National Institute of Standardization Yu Center gave an academic report entitled: "Standardization Helps Carbon Reach Peak and Carbon Neutrality". The report was chaired by Mr. Shen Meng, and teachers and students from the center participated in the report.
The main contents of this report include the domestic and international policy background of "Double Carbon", the international standardization of "Double Carbon", the progress of domestic standardization of "Double Carbon" and the next steps. Associate Researcher Sun Liang said that "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" has become a global issue, and introduced the current timetable for "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" of major countries in the world. Further, Associate Researcher Sun Liang introduced the implementation path of China's "Dual-Carbon" goal based on the background of the domestic "Double-Carbon" policy, that is, adjusting the energy structure, focusing on non-fossil energy, energy saving and efficiency improvement and low-carbon reengineering of industrial processes, Increase carbon sequestration in ecosystems, and utilize industrial carbon sequestration such as carbon capture, carbon utilization, and carbon sequestration. Finally, Associate Researcher Sun Liang introduced the international and domestic standardization progress of "Double Carbon". The teachers and students of the center actively asked questions and conducted further academic discussions with Associate Researcher Sun Liang.
