On January 13th, [Mingli Lecture Hall 8,2021] was lucky to invite Associate Professor Zhong Haiwang of Tsinghua University to bring the academic reportentitled " Tracking and Analyzing the Short-Run Impact of COVID-19 on the U.S.Electricity Sector".The report was presided over by Associate Professor Wang Bo of the college, and a total of more than 80 teachers and students attended the meeting online.
In the report, Professor Zhong Haiwang first introduced his research team and research direction, and then specifically introduced the latest article published in the Joule journal, "A Cross-Domain Approach to Analyzing the Short-Run Impact of COVID-19 on the US Electricity Sector", analyzed the short-term impact of the epidemic on the US power sector, and shared the team's work on the database construction of the epidemic and energy.
In the question-and-answer session, the teachers and students had a heated discussion with Professor Zhong Haiwang on the "difference of the impact of the epidemic on the stability of the power system between China and the United States" and "the choice of the model in power prediction". Zhong Haiwang, Associate Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, IEEE Senior Member, Tsinghua University, was selected for the 3rd China Association for Science and Technology Young Talents Support Project. The research direction is smart grid optimization operation, power market, etc. Published/admitted more than 60 SCI papers, including 2 Nature Communications papers and 1 Joule journal paper under Cell. Served as the chairman of the IEEE PES demand response working group and the secretary of the CIGRE D2.53 Power Internet of Things Working Group of the International Large Power Grid Conference.
